The recent updates to the naveo app introduce several noteworthy features. Users can now purchase the appropriate tickets directly within the application, including single, 24-hour, weekly, and monthly options. Notably, the app will soon expand its ticketing offerings with the inclusion of eezy – an airline tariff valid across NRW, available from late summer. The new version enhances user experience through additional functionalities and considerable improvements to existing features.

Core functionalities remain accessible:

• Check in/out with eezy.NRW, with the €49 price cap applicable across NRW
• Direct in-app purchase of tickets according to AVV tariff and NRW flat-rate options, available via route selection or the ticket catalogue; additional ticket types are anticipated
• Quick switching between route details, departure times, and ticket options via a tab bar
• Immediate access to current tickets through a dedicated button
• Use of easyConnect for cross-border train journeys between Cologne and Maastricht utilizing check-in/check-out technology
• Destination quick selection with drag & drop interface; popular destinations can be assigned as icons for easy access

The app also offers advanced multimodal information:

• Connection displays incorporating bus, train, bicycle, car sharing (including free vehicles at stations), or a combination of modes
• Door-to-door route suggestions tailored by address within NRW, prioritizing fastest and most efficient connections

Real-time routing features provide dynamic connection information, with alternatives displayed should disruptions occur. The alarm function allows users to set notifications for specific connections or during designated periods, ensuring timely updates on delays or service interruptions via push notifications.

The live map feature enables tracking of buses and trains with real-time updates; users can follow individual vehicles or view entire routes. A filtering option based on transportation mode enhances usability.

The app covers bus and train schedules across North Rhine-Westphalia and the Euregio Maas-Rhein, including current construction site notices affecting AVV and railway operations throughout NRW. Favorite destinations can be saved as icons for quick routing from current location or monitored departures.

Permissions required include camera access for QR code scanning, access to contacts for destination setting, and location services to identify nearby stops and display real-time positioning on the map.
